Barry Chevannes on Violence and Male Identity (Common Hour - Lecture and Discussion)

Barry Chevannes books include Rastafari and Other African-Caribbean Worldviews, linking Rastafari to African-Caribbean folk religion, and Learning to be a Man: Culture, Socialization, and Gender Identity in Five Caribbean Communities. Chevannes is a retired Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of the West Indies. Co-sponsored by the Department of Religious Studies and the African Diaspora Studies Program.
