While at Kenyon, Stephanie White majored in history with a focus on Middle Eastern and Asian studies. With the help of a Kenyon alumnus, Stephanie was hired in the emergency department of Boston Children’s Hospital. This experience affirmed her interest in healthcare and decision to pursue a career in medicine. She is currently a third-year student at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Stephanie hasn't yet chosen a specialty but is leaning towards emergency medicine or obstetrics and gynecology. Her research interests include patient safety after emergency discharge and the effectiveness of physician communication. In the study of medicine, Stephanie has felt grateful for her background in history. Kenyon faculty pushed her to understand different perspectives, which she has found to be a key component in providing quality care for all people.
