Join the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in continuing our celebration of Indigenous Heritage Month!
At this event, attendees will view the award winning film, "Two Soft Things, Two Hard Things," which explores LGBTQ+ diversity within Inuit communities. More specifically, this film focuses upon a small group in Nunavut, Canada, as they prepare for a seminal LGBTQ Pride celebration in the Arctic.
Additionally, the film explores how colonization and religion have shamed and erased traditional Inuit beliefs about sexuality and family structure and how, 60 years later, a new generation of Inuit are actively ‘unshaming’ their past.

Content Warning: This film describes anti-LGBTQ+ violence and historical trauma related to colonization.
