“Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” gives away the mystery in its title — or does it? Tom Stoppard’s comedy picks up the story of these two college friends of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark somewhere in the middle of that other famous tale. But something is definitely rotten, or at least very weird, in the state of Denmark. The laws of probability and physics are out of whack. Is this real life or a play, and are characters ever really alive? The audience is left to enjoy this twisted tragedy as the two friends try to figure out what’s really going on in this game of chance we call life.
