Pelotonia is an annual bike tour from Columbus that ends on Kenyon’s campus for rides of 75 and 100 miles. Pelotonia donates all money raised by riders to Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, collecting more than $90 million since 2008. The Kenyon Peloton is made up of students, parents of students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and includes President Sean Decatur.
Where to watch: in front of the KAC at the finish line.
Parking: in the KAC lot, which must be accessed that day by Duff Street.
Schedule of events:
Saturday, August 8
7 a.m. 100-mile and 180-mile riders begin to depart downtown Columbus.
7:30 a.m. 75-mile and 155-mile riders begin to depart in suburban Columbus.
About 11 a.m. Fastest cyclists start arriving at the Kenyon Athletic Center.
11 a.m. Food service for riders starts under tents on the lawn in front of Peirce Hall. As the day goes on, the celebration for riders and their families at the tents will feature live music, drinks and food by Kenyon’s dining service.
12:30-4 p.m. When most riders will arrive.
Sunday, August 9
5:30-6:30 a.m. Breakfast by Bob Evans at the KAC for riders who stayed overnight on campus.
7 a.m. Riders depart Gambier to complete the longest routes ending back in central Ohio.
