The departments of International Studies and Modern Languages and Literatures, in partnership with the Career Development Office and the Center for Global Engagement, will co-host Lizzy Hallinan on Dec. 7 during Common Hour.
Lizzy will discuss her experience as an aid worker in development and humanitarian contexts around the world. She will focus on the practical aspects working in the industry, including the range of position available in field offices — from project managers to logisticians to financial controllers — and key skills and experiences needed to land that first job. She will also address the "soft skills" needed to navigate work successfully in challenging and ambiguous contexts.
Those interested in continuing the conversation after Lizzy's presentation are welcome to grab lunch and join Lizzy in Thomas Hall of Peirce from 12-1 p.m.
Thursday, December 7 at 11:00am to 12:00pm
