The Knox County Symphony, conducted by Professor Music Benjamin Locke, will present its annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 8 p.m. in Rosse Hall Auditorium. Guest artists on this program will be the Kenyon Community Choir, performing Giuseppe Verdi’s “Te Deum” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Vesperae solennes de confessore.” Featured soloists in the Mozart will be Tamara Seckel, soprano, Jennifer Marcellana, mezzo-soprano, Benjamin Bunsold, tenor, and Jeff MacMullen, baritone. Also featured will be soprano Devin Bean '20 in the Verdi.
The orchestra will complete the evening with a performance of Tchaikovsky’s "Symphony No. 2 in C Minor." This piece is known as the “Little Russian” symphony due to its extensive use of Ukrainian folk melodies.
Dr. Locke is also the conductor of the Kenyon Community Choir. The group is accompanied weekly by pianist Patricia K. Pelfrey.
Tickets are available at the door, or by calling Sarah Goslee Reed at 392-4955.
