The Kenyon Community Choir and the Kenyon College Chamber Singers will present their annual Winter Concert on Saturday, Dec. 2, in Rosse Hall Auditorium at 8 p.m. Both groups are conducted by Professor of Music Benjamin Locke.
The Community Choir, accompanied by Patricia Pelfrey, will perform music from the Baroque era to the modern day, using texts in English, Spanish, Yiddish, Latin and Russian.
The Chamber Singers will likewise perform music that reaches back to the Renaissance, with an emphasis on contemporary composers such as Theodore Morrison, Randall Thompson, Kathleen Allan, Gerald Cohen, Katerina Gimon and others.
The two choirs will combine on stage for the final number, "Shilohini," a Tsonga (South African) folksong.
The concert is free and open to the public.
