Live broadcasting of the festival from India will be on view in Fischman Lobby. Gallery talks by Gund Associates scheduled throughout the day. Indian food on the lawn 5-8 PM.
Global Ganesh: Temple, Market, Museum focuses on mass-produced popular images of the auspicious elephant-headed god Ganesh, important to both Hindus and Buddhists of South Asia, who appears ubiquitously throughout colliding cultural sectors; the temple, marketplace and museum, in ways that expose the god as a malleable and multivalent social, political, economic and spiritual marker.
