Join Unity House and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in celebrating Earth Day with a LGBTQ+ environmental sustainability project!
At this event, attendees will be planting several saplings native to Ohio in an effort to have a positive impact in recognition of Earth Day. The saplings will be planted in environmentally friendly grow bags and kept outside of Unity House, until they are large enough to take root in the ground. We will also be delivering some of the saplings to the Brown Family Environmental Center (BFEC).
Those who are interested in this event are also encouraged to attend the various other Earth Day events around campus, including the BFEC's Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 20.
This event is inspired by the work done by OUT for Sustainability, which hosts "Earth Gay" events each year. Their organization mobilizes the LGBTQ+ community for environmental and social action.
This is event is co-sponsored by the Brown Family Environmental Center (BFEC) and the Office of Green Initiatives.
