It's hard to follow in the footsteps of ghosts. Scholars look to mentors and allies at every stage of their career, but recognizing that you have a place in STEM can be difficult without visible role models. In this event we will explore the impact of visibility on underrepresented groups in STEM, the intersectionality of personal identity, and how to cultivate allies and mentors to help share the burden of creating equitable and safe spaces in the STEM community. Join the creator of 500 Queer Scientists a visibility campaign for LGBTQ+ people working in STEM as she touches on these topics and more.
