This all-campus seminar during Commencement weekend will feature Professor of Mathematics Judy Holdener and Professor Emerita of Art Karen Snouffer speaking about "Connections and Intersections: Math and Art Meet in the Classroom."

Both seek to understand and describe patterns in the world around them,, and both make creative use of abstraction and symbolism to communicate their ideas to the world. Karen Snouffer and Judy Holdener will talk about important connections between the realms of art and math, tapping into their recent experience in teaching their new course "Math in the Studio."
Judy Holdener researches number theory, dynamical systems and mathematical biology. She was award Kenyon'ed Tomsich Science Award and Trustee Teaching Award in 2003.
Karen Snouffer's artwork concentrates on installation and multimedia processes and has been exhibited nationally.
