When radioactive processes result in positron emission, we can detect photons from the electron-positron annihilation. This experiment used techniques in coincidence spectroscopy to study the angular correspondence between photons that are simultaneously emitted from a source. We were able to confirm that annihilation photons are emitted in opposite directions, satisfying the requirement that their net momentum is zero.
