Kenyon College became coeducational in September 1969 when 160 women arrived on the Hill. The beginning of coeducation at Kenyon and the experiences of the women who changed a campus culture will be celebrated in a series of events throughout 2019-20 academic year. The impact of these landmark changes will be examined in academic study, community-wide events and programming at Kenyon organizations such as the Gund Gallery and the Kenyon Review.
The series of events will not only honor the beginning of coeducation at Kenyon; it will also celebrate women's impact on the College throughout its history.
This year-long celebration kicks off Sept. 14, 2019.
The Office of Alumni Engagement has met with alumnae across the country to explore themes and goals for the anniversary celebration. Get involved and share your ideas about this important milestone in the College's history.
