Caroline Seymour-Jorn, an associate professor of Arabic literature at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Qussay Al-Attabi, assistant professor of Arabic at Kenyon, will discuss their process and the politics of translation as well as the current state of Arabic literature in translation.
Professor Seymour-Jorn's research focuses on Egyptian culture and arts and youth in the Middle East, and she has translated the fiction of several prominent Egyptian writers. Professor Al-Attabi is currently working on translations of Iraqi poetry for an anthology.
