Interested in 3D modeling, digital art or digital humanities but not sure where to begin? This workshop will introduce you to the fundamentals of photogrammetry, a process which turns a series of photographs of real-world objects and places into 3D scans. The process is intuitive and open to everyone, regardless of their technical skills or background.
Participants will create photo-realistic models using either their own photographs or working from photos provided by the instructor. They will then learn how to use these models as the basis for further artistic or research applications. Finally, they will publish their work as interactive models accessible online.
Sponsored by the Department of Art History and the Department of Studio Art and the Dr. Paul and Laura Mesaros Art Fund.
